The future we saw yesterday...

Lets go back in time, 10 years back...When the grass was greener, the air was cleaner and modernization just started to crawl. The people of the Maldivian society and a vision, a dream, to see a modernized Maldives; work made easier and lives getting better. It was a great vision viewed through imagination, technology bringing in the high tech gadgets to improve our lives for the betterment of our society. Servant robots doing and helping us to carryout our biddings, though i may have been only seven years old, I can remember yesterday, like I see tomorrow. But now that it has happened, some people are starting to regret it. Specially some parents, as they're constantly loosing their children to westernization. Surprisingly enough, though unanticipated and yet, not unexpected , with the changing time, people have changed.

Maldives is no longer a society. Instead, I see it as a group of communities refusing to become one, like poles of the same magnetic material. Disastrous and ruthless, Maldives has lost its brotherhood. Shedding brotherly blood is becoming a daily routine that it happens everyday of the year. The truth can be trusted no more as it can be created and bought. Freedom is over rated and love, redefined but still we call ourselves muslims. Women get no respect, children have no rights and innocent people are proven guilty by force. What a way of living...

The rules of the jungle have already sunk in. Its everyman for himself now. Its everyman for himself now; survival of the fittest. Children start smoking at the age of four. Organized crime is a new profession and an optional career for a lot of hopeless cases. Drugs have spread all over like wild fire. Yet, its never good to judge a book by its cover and a shame that some of us took everything that glittered as gold. I think I'm not wrong in saying old is and was gold. I was just wondering whether this was the future we saw yesterday...

The story of three friends...

This is the story of three friends, how their friendship comes to an end and how love comes in and sends them in different directions. A small love story I thought that I'd present in the form of a poem...

Two girls and a boy, friends like no other
Promises that their friendship will last forever
Confidence, that their friendship will breakdown never
Their hearts, soft and light like a feather
Their minds point sharp and mighty clever

Believed that nothing could disconnect them ever

Not knowing what fate can hold
Beyond their identity, their destiny, let it unfold
Winter brews their way, harsh and cold
A thrilling tale spinning by time, let it mould
The truth beneath their friendship, behold

Girl one, a mind blowing extreme sensation
Hides in her heart, a wondrous passion
For the boy, a secret heart ache, this the confession
Love or friendship, what a major confusion
Admitted the truth, she thinks can lead to destruction
Of the friendship promised till the next generation

The boy, a teenager of seventeen
Who lost his mother when thirteen
But never sad no stressed has he been
Because his friends always came in between
His life and grief since 1915
He's a secret admirer, lets roll on to the next scene

Girl two was strikingly beautiful
Thought the world was so wonderful
Her life flawless and colourful
Loyal to her friends and truthful
Thinks love's a pain and a duty sinful
Thought the boy was nice and meaningful

The sun rose early next morning
Showing no specific sign, no warning
That the day was going to face a tragic ending
Three friendships of the highest ranking
Coming down ground level, collapsing
With love in their young hearts, awakening

Girl one meets girl two in the park
She tells her about the secret spark
In her heart, for the boy, kept in the dark
With a hug she replies, says the month of June
Brings a soul mate to ones life, a moon
Beginning a new chapter in life, that ends not soon

The boy made his way to the park
With a red rose n his hands, a mark
Of great love, that shines upon in the dark
His two friends now closer than a mile
He sees his princess with a gorgeous smile
He smartens up and starts to walk with style

Girl one sees the boy first, heading their way
Her heart skips a beat, the breeze was making her sway
As she sees the rose, her heart speaks away
Hold your hand, hug you, love you, I may
Just say the magic words and make me feel that way

Girl one, with a smile he passes by
She returns a smile and wonders why
The boy a little nervous and shy
Gifts the rose saying I love you, make me fly
To girl two, shocking girl one, making her cry
Kissing the unbreakable bond of friendship good bye

They say where there's friendship there's hope
But when love comes round and cuts the rope
Friendships too, turn into bubbles of soap
Girl one left to cry, to moan in pain
Girl two, alone and petrified in the rain
And the boy, running away from life on a train...

The story ends here my friends. Loving someone is more than a duty. Sometimes when you chase love, it runs away from you...Just stop chasing it...It'll come to you if its yours, but shall never return if its not yours...Love is the strongest and deepest emotion. It asks for nothing but believes in sacrifice...

This poem is dedicated to all my friends and others who have lost a loved one...

Incomplete...

I look up myself in the mirror
And turn away in terror
As I know, this must be an error
That I've lost half my face forever
I hope this happens never

I open my closet and pick up a file
Seeing your photos, I look at them for a while
Feeling happy, but I forget to smile
Knowing that we're further away than a mile
The tears that form, I can cry another river nile

Coming down the stairs, i fell
Sitting up, I realize nothing goes well
The flowers in the garden have lost their smell
I fee like I'm trapped in a cell
Without you my life is a living hell

The warm nights seem so cold
Close to me, there's no one to hold
In sweaty nightmares I've been told
That you've left my heart in a thousand folds
And with no regrets, sinfully sold
Your heart to someone else in this world

Is it true, did you leave me alone
To moan in unending pain and groan
My heart ripped into tiny pieces and torn
You've broken the promise you've sworn
To fly me to the moon and back on a silver swan

Wasn't it you, who wanted to commit the perfect crime
A clever plan to steal a pure heart, that was mine
And for me to steal your heart, that's fair and fine
But look at this tale told by time
My life has reached the end of the line
Incomplete and with no other words to rhyme...

A fact of life...

Like I've said, the world is full of surprises. I mean we're so much involved in life, sometimes we just never stop and think. But once we stop and look back, something’s start to make sense. "Everything happens for a reason" how often do we hear that phrase and how many of us have actually experienced it? Actually, it happens and had happened with everyone. The simplest of examples; why did your boss give you a promotion? That's because that person has a secret corner in his or her heart for you. Oops! Just kidding. But hey, just stop for a moment and think...Think about yesterday...Think about tomorrow...Think about...this..
Have you ever noticed that...
When someone asks you if you have a minute, he's really asking for twenty...
That no matter how many TV channels you switch to, you always get a commercial...
That the world is full of people who go through life running from something that isn't chasing them...
That you spend 18 months trying to get your children to stand up and talk and the next 18 years trying to get them to sit down and listen...
And it’s unbelievable, but true that...
When you're a child you ask all the questions without answers…
When you're a teenager, you know all the answers without questions...
And when you're middle aged you know all the answers to the questions, but not the solutions...
Just think about it...

What is love?

To lead a healthy and prosperous life, humans need a lot of gear. One of the most vital components in tact is love, the most powerful emotion that exists. It is strange that people believe that love is connected with the heart when the brain is responsible for all the actions and emotions of the human body. It is also strange that whilst love defines a person, a person cannot define love. The evidences that support this fact are many. Infact, the simplest truth that chains this fact is that people fall in love and don’t realize it. They don’t even recognize it. You don’t believe me? Then try this, ask a person who has a boyfriend or girlfriend what love is? They can’t decide on an immediate answer and some even stare at you blankly…but there are a few people who blabbers nonsense just to show you that they know what love is…Unfortunately they don’t know that they’re making a fool out of themselves…What a shame…

Anyway, I just thought I’d share with you a few ways in which you can define love. These are some definitions I found out from books, internet, friends and my heart…Hope you like them and recognize love next time when it comes and dances infront of you…Good luck…

  • Loves comes in gently, unannounced and changes two lives forever.
  • Love is that tender sweet emotion that is felt in a hug, a kiss or just a caress.
  • Love is being together in every walk of life no matter what.
  • Love adds colour to life, gives it a new meaning and makes it truly worthwhile.
  • Love is a celebration of what two hearts share; it is a wonderful feeling that shows they care.
  • Love is giving, love is kind, it never asks for, it only believes in sacrifice.
  • Love is a priceless wonderful gift from the vast store house of life.
  • Love is a secret language that only two loving hearts can understand.
  • Love is the light that shines upon two hearts, making their world bright.
  • Love is a sweet melody that echoes in loving hearts.
  • Love spreads it beauty everywhere, like flowers spread their fragrance in the air.
  • Love is sweet smiles, tinkling laughter and a thousand moments together.
  • Love is the answer to every question that arises in a loving and tender heart.
  • Love is the strength, the inspiration that follows and guides two hearts.
  • Love is devotion. It is the trust and the deepest emotion.
  • Love is being what you are and accepting what the other is.
  • Love is the comfort in knowing that there is someone by your side always.
  • Love is often expressed by sweet little gestures of affection.
  • Love is the shimmering sensation, that goes beyond every feeling every emotion.
  • Love is a promise that two hearts make, to stay together forever.
  • Love is that beautiful, intense feeling that leaves two hearts light and free.
  • Love gives joy beyond compare and touches the hearts with warmth so wonderful and rare.
  • Love is caring; love is sharing every little happiness, every bit of life.
  • Love is faith in each other, a firm belief and an honest confession.
  • Love is silence, an unspoken expression that needs no explanation.
  • Love is joy…love is laughter…love is a treasure trove of unending happiness.

Word of advice, its better to live with someone who loves you rather than with someone you love. Love the heart that hurts you, but don’t hurt the heart that loves you. You may be just ‘a someone’ in this world, but for someone, you are the world. Hope this is of some use to you.

Me, Myself and I...
Hola…My name is Abdulla Nazim and I’m just a regular teenager who likes to dream a lot, but colouring them…well that’s a different story. I’m seventeen at the moment and I’ve been through loads of stuff so far. Life has always challenged me in so many ways and I’ve been tested more than once in different vicinities of life. I create this blog to share my experiences with you hoping that it is of some use to anyone who reads it…for time pass or to get a moral out of it…I don’t mind…anyone’s welcome to read my stuff and comment on it. But please note that your point of view and my perspectives may be different as I am me and you’re you. I live my life and you live yours, we lead two different vivacities. They might be similar in ways but never the same. The experiences I’ve had so far, I wonder how many others have faced it. Some of those experiences, I pray that you never confront them. Hope you like it and my written work is specially, of some use to all those teenagers out there as it’s a hard phase of life to live without a good friend’s guidance. Welcome to my blog…Adios…
